Bleue Chaouen

Chefchaouen is a town in the Moroccan Riff.

Its name would mean "Look at the horn", that is to say the mountain on which it is hung.

Chaouen, its usual name, has the facades of its houses as well as its streets painted blue.

Two pigments are mainly used: a vegetable pigment, dark blue, and a mineral pigment, light blue.

Mixed with lime they allow an infinite variation of tones.
